Mental Health Therapy
Mental health therapy involves evidence-based psychological support to help individuals manage emotional distress, mental health conditions, and life challenges. Therapy can assist with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and interpersonal difficulties. Under the Medicare model, individuals can access therapy with a registered psychologist through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from their GP, which provides Medicare rebates for eligible sessions.
Pregnancy Support Counselling
Non-directive pregnancy support counselling is a Medicare-funded service designed to assist individuals who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant in the past 12 months. This service provides a safe and confidential environment to discuss any concerns or emotional challenges related to pregnancy, including decision-making, coping strategies, and support options. To initiate the process, schedule an appointment with your GP to discuss your concerns and obtain a referral for pregnancy support counselling. This service aims to support your emotional well-being during and after pregnancy.
Pre-conception and Perinatal Counselling
Becoming a parent is a profound transition, filled with excitement, challenges, and emotional shifts. Amy provides compassionate mental health therapy and supportive counselling for those navigating the journey from pre-conception through pregnancy and postpartum. Whether you're facing fertility struggles, pregnancy-related anxiety, birth trauma, or postpartum adjustment, Amy offers a safe space to process your experiences, build emotional resilience, and find support tailored to your unique needs.
These sessions may be eligible for Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or through a Pregnancy Support Counselling referral as described above.
Psychosexual (Sex) Therapy
Psychosexual therapy focuses on addressing concerns related to sexual health, intimacy, and relationships. This includes difficulties with sexual functioning, pain, low desire, mismatched libidos, and the psychological impact of medical conditions on sexual well-being. It also supports individuals in exploring gender identity, sexuality, and reproductive health concerns.
Psychosexual therapy may not be eligible for Medicare rebates.
